Welcome to The Good Edit.
My name Rebecca Davis and I am a journalist, writer, and host of The Good Edit podcast.
The Good Edit is a space for us – the next generation of Jewish women – to give voice to our stories.
In a series of gritty and grounded conversations, I speak with a range of Jewish women - from entrepreneurs to activists; creatives to survivors of major adversity, and many more.
Together, we will delve into the journeys that have shaped us, the hardships we’ve overcome, and go deep on the things so often left unsaid.
Why?
Because our stories are our power.
Because we need to see it, to be it, and by sharing our diverse stories, we challenge the limiting narratives in which Jewish women are too often framed.
These are good stories, inspiring good;
elevating and empowering us
to live courageously
and on purpose.
So, this is us: bold yet vulnerable, unfiltered and gloriously imperfect. Loud and proud, claiming our own space.

The Back Story.
While working for several years as
Features Editor at The Australian Jewish News,
I reported extensively on issues
affecting women in our community
and even co-led a special investigation into
gender inequality in Jewish organisations.
The bottom line:
I had so many discussions with women –
interviewees, peers,
girlfriends over glasses of wine –
and as I did, I grew more aware of
the ways in which many of us felt –
not fully seen, or really heard.
And so, I wanted to create that space for us.
A place where we can tell our own stories, honestly, in all their light and shade.
A place where together we can
navigate life’s fun stuff –
like, career, fear, relationships, trauma, identity...
Where we can find our path towards living a life unbounded and on our own terms,
and in doing so, inspire each other on our way.
So, after much thought, I finally took the leap.
In 2021, I left my job, and
poured my heart into The Good Edit.
It felt a little (lot!) crazy, but it also felt like
I couldn’t not do it, you know?
And, here we are!...
Who is The Good Edit for?
While The Good Edit was created first and foremost for Jewish women - and that means anyone who identifies as Jewish and a woman – we are an inclusive space, and welcome everyone.
We believe that it is through the sharing of our experiences that we break down barriers and preconceived ideas; and instead, understand each other a little more, and actually connect. So, whoever you are, we love that you are here, and thank you for opening yourself up to hear our stories!
